Professional Experience

Courtney Burns is an associate attorney at Martinez Hsu, P.C. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law where she was a Regents Scholarship recipient. During law school, she interned for the Hon. Sam A. Lindsay in the Northern District of Texas as well as the legal department of Parkland Health & Hospital System. She is admitted to practice before Texas state courts and the federal courts for the Northern District of Texas.

Courtney joined Martinez Hsu in 2015 following her association with Kelly Hart & Hallman in Fort Worth where she led a multi-attorney team responsible for confidentiality agreement negotiation for the specialty lending, special situations, and direct credit investment platforms of a $70-billion global private investment firm. She currently serves as counsel for numerous small businesses across Texas, handling entity formation, filings, private securities offerings, and mergers and acquisitions.

Courtney has served in various capacities in the community including as Chairman of the Board for Young Catholic Professionals Fort Worth, President of St. Patrick Cathedral Young Adults, and a member of the Executive Committee for the Bishop’s Guild, an organization of lay leaders who support the growth of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Fort Worth.
